The weekly competion is a chance to have fun and not be at all concerned about the number of words you have written and whether it is enough. The weekly story can be as short as you feel it needs to be. The aim of this exercise is to be creative, explore one moment in time to its fullest, expand an idea to its limit. Don't worry about writing a fully polished publishable prize winner, we are only concerned with developing creativity, after all you only have 7 days.

The monthly competion is more of a challenge, here we want you to think more about your writing style and consistency. The weekly competition has helped you with creativity and exploring ideas the monthly competion is your chance to write a more rounded story. Length of story is still not the aim, an interesting story which keeps the reader reading is always the most important thing.

Competion Rules

We have very few rules for these competions, we do set a subject to get you going but we are not concerned if you pick your own. If you have written and entered a story in the weekly story and you want to expand it and have another go then enter it into the monthly as well.
We do ask that swear words and general bad language are not used, we will screen all stories and remove such words. This website is aimed at all ages and any stories not suitable for children will be removed and may lead to your membership being terminated.
